The Moment He Added That Second Ring To My Finger In Key West Florida At Our Beach Wedding

By Peter Estenoz

I have to tell you about the story of my big day; when I got married to my husband. It was sunset and the tide was lapping in on golden sands. He held my hand and he added that second ring to my finger in Key West Florida at our beach wedding. I was absolutely overjoyed and overcome with emotion. This was especially shocking because to my mind, he hadn't seemed capable of the big romantic gesture that this was.

We had been going out and dating for several years, but in all that time I hadn't seen this side of him. I knew that he was sweet and kind and generous, but I really didn't think that the grand gesture was in his reach. Our engagement had been nice, but it wasn't anything special like this. We had been engaged to be married for a few years, and all my friends were starting to get antsy about when he would make his move.

And I'm glad I didn't. We were just going down south for a regular vacation, I thought. Some time in the sun. He hadn't indicated anything was up, until we got on the plane. Then casually as anything, he suggested we make it official.

I was both excited and concerned. Here was the man of my dreams asking me to marry him for sure, but the big day was going to be in someone else's hands. I shouldn't have been concerned. Had we as a couple had months to organize it, we could not have done a better job. Like I said, the surroundings were perfect and the staff did everything they could to make it ideal for me.

People always have that dream, from a young age, of imagining what they big day will be like. It's unlikely that a sandy one ever comes up. But it really should - I don't think I would have been able to conjure up a better day in my childhood than the one I had.

I was totally swooning by the time I was walked down the aisle. Everything had been perfect, and the staff made the rest of the day even better. When we got home and told everyone and showed them the beautiful professionally taken photographs, they agreed. People were jealous about our day.

I can honestly say, from the bottom of my heart, that when he added that second ring to my finger in Key West Florida at our beach wedding, I couldn't have felt happier. I hope that our daughters have their dream reconfigured because of our experience. I hope they'll want to get married in this place and this way too.
